Gouache painting on paper. Viṣṇu in the form of Paraśurāma, the sixth avatar of the god. Paraśurāma, or Rama-with-the-axe, fights the many-armed corrupt Haihaya king, Arjuna Kartavirya. A palace can be seen in the distance, behind the hill used as a backdrop for the two main figures.
