Android 2.3.6 was released on September 2, 2011. The version of the WebKit rendering engine is 533.1.
- Note that since the Wikipedia for mobile redesign in early 2015, the search box is for some reason not visible in that browser version, and is covered by a dark gray-colored widget. Tapping on it displays the menu of Wikipedia mobile. Part of the box can be glimpsed at the browser's 'close'/'near' zoom setting, and also when JavaScript is turned off. The latter move is somewhat disadvantageous, as the very well optimized stock browser is still functional on most sites.
- Since about 12 June 2015, the search box is now visible and accessible, albeit narrow. See <a href="#versions">Other versions</a> for image.
