The Topkapı Palace structures and gardens are located in southeastern <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Istanbul" title="Istanbul">Istanbul</a> in western Turkey, on the the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Horn" class="extiw" title="en:Golden Horn">Golden Horn</a> at Seraglio Point, overlooking the Sea of Marmara and the Bosporus.

PLAN ORIENTATION
  • The main axis is from south (left page-side) to north (right page-side). The outermost First Courtyard starts the axis at the south—(left side), with each increasingly private and successive courtyard leading northwards—(towards right).
