Friedrich Brandt (23 June 1917 – 18 January 1945) was a German infantry commander and recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross during World War II. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership.

Career

Oberleutnant Brandt received the Knight’s Cross during his division’s battles in the Caucasus. In the words of the German press, “Oberleutnant Friedrich Brandt… advanced ahead of the lead company in a reconnaissance vehicle and drove into the enemy aggressively, laying extraordinarily good groundwork for the continuation of the combat operations.”[1]
