I. I. Rabi Award
From Infogalactic: the planetary knowledge core
The I. I. Rabi Award, founded in 1983, is awarded annually by Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
- "The Rabi Award is to recognize outstanding contributions related to the fields of atomic and molecular frequency standards, and time transfer and dissemination."[1]
Named after Isidor Isaac Rabi, Nobel Prize winner in 1944 for theoretical and experimental contributions to atomic beam resonance spectroscopy leading to the development of practical atomic frequency standards. He was the first to receive the prize in 1983.
