Iris Szeghy

Iris Szeghy (born 1956) is a Slovak composer.

Biography

Iris Szeghy was born in Prešov, Slovakia. She studied piano and composition at the Conservatory in Košice and composition at the Music Academy in Bratislava.[1] She continued her studies in Budapest, Warsaw, the University of California in San Diego, and at the STEIM Studio in Amsterdam. From 1992 to 1993 she was composer-in-residence at the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart, and later at the State Opera in Hamburg.[citation needed]

Iris Szeghy lives and works in Switzerland and has won international composition awards. Her work have been performed and broadcast in Europe, America and Australia.[2]
