Dr. J. Buzz Von Ornsteiner aka Dr. Buzz is the project director and licensed psychologist for the Mental Health Court Advocacy Program which is based in Brooklyn Arraignment Court.[1] The program's goal is to divert from further adjudication and confinement, seriously and persistently mentally ill offenders charged with minor, low-level non-violent crimes at the first point of contact with Criminal Court, the Brooklyn Arraignment Court.[2]

Biography

As a licensed forensic psychologist Dr. Buzz has a significant history working with the mentally ill, the cognitively impaired and the addicted. He has worked within the restrictions of correctional facilities to the unprotected extremes of meeting the client within their home and out on the urban streets.[3] His forensic clinical work includes working as a crisis intervention psychologist as well as conducting guardianship competency evaluations for the City of New York.[4] Dr. Von Ornsteiner quickly became known to the public as "Dr. Buzz".[5] appearing first on New York City radio station WWRL with his own show "Ask Dr. Buzz" and then on national cable stations, CNN International, CNN Headline News, Fox News, E Entertainment, MSNBC, WNYW, Court TV News, Tru TV, WPIX and Investigation Discovery[6] as a regular expert analyst commenting on current high profile criminal cases[7]
