J. Hampton (Surrey cricketer)

J Hampton (dates unknown) was an English professional cricketer who made 52 known appearances in major cricket matches between 1793 and 1816.

Career

He was mainly associated with Surrey but also represented Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and other teams. He played for the Players in the inaugural Gentlemen v Players match in 1806.[1] It is possible that he was the brother of Harry Hampton.[2]
