The Jakati or Inku language is spoken by several small, supposedly Romani ethnic groups (Jāt) in Afghanistan.[3][4][5] Nevertheless, it is different from other Romani languages, as it is related to the Lahnda language of Pakistan. The name Jāt is not a self-designation of the groups but rather a collective, often pejorative name given by outsiders,[6] it is not to be confused with Jats of India and Pakistan.
