John Holker, Jr.

John Holker junior (born in Manchester in 1745 and died in Berryville, Virginia on April 13, 1822), was a French manufacturer, inspector general of manufactures following his father and actor of the American Revolution, appointed in 1778 consul of France in Pennsylvania, then in 1779 consul of France for the four states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey. He was at the same time appointed general agent of the Royal Navy of France and as such had to manage the logistics and finances of the French expeditionary force.
