John Knotwell[2] is an American politician and a Republican member of the Utah House of Representatives representing District 52 since January 1, 2013.[3]

Early Life and Career

Knotwell earned his AS in political science from Utah Valley State College (now Utah Valley University) and his BS in political science with a minor in history from the University of Utah.[3] Knotwell lives in Herriman, Utah and works as Chief Revenue Officer at Steton Technology Group. [4]

Political career

  • 2014 Knotwell was unopposed in the 2014 Republican convention and won the November 4, 2014 General election with 6,055 votes (76.5%) against Democratic nominee Daniel Paget.[5]
  • 2012 With District 52 incumbent appointed Republican Representative Daniel McCay redistricted to District 41, Knotwell was selected from four candidates by the Republican convention and won the three-way November 6, 2012 General election with 9,928 votes (73.6%) against Democratic nominee Daniel Paget and Independent candidate Aaron Davis.[6]

During the 2016 legislative session, Representative Knotwell served on the Infrastructure and General Government Appropriations Subcommittee, the House Rules Committee, the House Revenue and Taxation Committee, and the House Business and Labor Committee. During the interim, Knotwell served on the Business and Labor Interim Committee and the Revenue and Taxation Interim Committee.[3]
