Karl Angerstein (4 December 1890 – 20 September 1985) was a highly decorated Generalleutnant in the Luftwaffe during World War II who commanded the I. Fliegerkorps. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Karl Angerstein was captured in May 1945 by American troops and was held until 1947.
