Katy Mixon (born March 30, 1981) is an American actress. She is best known for her roles as April Buchanon on HBO's Eastbound & Down and Victoria Flynn on the CBS television comedy series Mike & Molly.
Early life
Mixon was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida. She was one of seven children.[1] She attended high school in Birmingham, Alabama and Pensacola, Florida, and graduated from the Pensacola Private School of Liberal Arts.[2] She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama.[3]
Career
Mixon's first acting job came in 2001, playing Calpurnia in the Utah Shakespearean Festival's presentation of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar.[3]
Mixon moved to Los Angeles, California, in 2003. In 2005, she starred in the premiere of the interactive theater play American Standard at the Los Angeles Edgefest. Mixon has performed at Upright Cabaret.[4] Her first role in a major motion picture was in the 2005 thriller The Quiet, playing the character Michelle Fell.[5]
In 2010, Mixon became a regular cast member on the CBS TV comedy series Mike & Molly. She also had a recurring role on HBO's critically acclaimed baseball comedy, Eastbound & Down.[6]
