Land of the Leopard (Russian: национа́льный парк «Земля́ леопа́рда») is a 262,000-hectare (650,000-acre) national park in Primorsky Krai, Russia.[1] It was established in April 2012 following the merger of Kedrovaya Pad Reserve, Barsovy Federal Wildlife Refuge, Borisovkoye Plateau Regional Wildlife Refuge, and a new territory along the border with China. Considered the "world's rarest cat" by the WWF,[1] Amur leopards are facing extinction in the area, with 2012 reports estimating less than thirty remaining in the forests between the Sea of Japan and Jilin Province of China.[2] The park covers about 60% of their habitat area.[1]
