This article gives an overview of liberalism in Montenegro. It is limited to liberal parties with substantial support, mainly proved by having had a representation in parliament. Background

Liberal parties were active in former Yugoslavia. After the restoration of democracy, liberal factions became active again.

History

Liberalism is organized in Montenegro in the Liberal Party of Montenegro (Liberalna Partija Crne Gore is more or less a liberal party.

From Liberal Alliance of Montenegro to Liberal Party of Montenegro

  • 1990: The Montenegrin liberals established in 1990 the Liberal Alliance of Montenegro (Liberalni Savez Crne Gore).
  • 2004: A group of former members of the Liberal Alliance of Montenegro founds Liberal Party of Montenegro (Liberalna Partija Crne Gore).
  • 2005: The Liberal Alliance of Montenegro is disbanded and part of its members joined the Liberal Party of Montenegro.
