Lysva (Russian: Лысьва) is a town in Perm Krai, Russia, located in the eastern part of the krai on the Lysva River, 86 kilometers (53 mi) from Perm. Population: 65,918 (2010 Census);[3] 71,148 (2002 Census);[5] 76,614 (1989 Census).[6]
Contents
History
It was founded in 1785 as a place of residence for industrial workers.[citation needed] In 1926, it was granted town status.[citation needed]
Administrative and municipal status
Within the framework of administrative divisions, it is, together with fifty-nine rural localities, incorporated as the town of krai significance of Lysva—an administrative unit with the status equal to that of the districts.[1] As a municipal division, the town of krai significance of Lysva is incorporated as Lysvensky Urban Okrug.[2]
Economy
The town's major industry are machine building and metalworking. It is exporting sheet iron, equipment for oil extraction, electric motors and others.
Transportation
There are non-electrified railway line runs through town, that connect Lysva with Kalino station on the Gornozavodsk railway line.
