Marilyn Stokstad

Marilyn Stokstad is a professor emerita of art history at the University of Kansas, and an author of art-history textbooks, the most recent of which is Art History (Fifth Edition). Her textbooks can be compared to Janson's Art History.[1]

Her Ph.D. thesis, from the University of Michigan, was "The Pórtico de la Gloria of the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela".[2] Her M.A. thesis, from Michigan State University, was "Norwegian Mural Painting from 1910 to 1950".[3]

She was also president of the College Art Association.
