Mark Day born October 4, is a Canadian actor and producer.

Biography

Day was born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia and raised in the small Cape Breton town of Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia. He got his first part-time job at age 14 as a radio DJ for the local radio station, CIGO-FM in Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia.

He studied theater at Acadia University before making his feature film debut as a young fisherman in the 2000 film Deeply starring Kirsten Dunst. His other film roles have included Songs in Ordinary Time, A Glimpse of Hell, Julie Walking Home starring Miranda Otto and A Hole in One. He has also made numerous television appearances, most notably a recurring role on the critically praised Showcase Television sitcom It's Me...Gerald.

He also has a lead role on the CBC Television pilot Cheap Draft directed by award winning filmmaker Jay Dahl. Day was also the Co-Host for CBC's Hockeyville 2006. Day was featured in a supporting lead role on the CBC, 8-part, one hour mini series October 1970 which was based on the October Crisis in Quebec involving the terrorist activities of the FLQ. Day is currently developing a television project as a writer and producer and is also Producing a feature film recently announced for development. Mark can also be see in the CTV/CBS co-production police drama series Flashpoint as Leon Weeks in (Ep.317 "The Good Citizen"). He can be seen in the pilot of A&E's drama series "Breakout Kings" which aired in 2011. Mark is also the voice of Pa James and a recurring actor on all five seasons of CBC's The Ron James Show.

Since then Day has been working as the afternoon drive anchor on 1310News in Ottawa, a sister station of Toronto's 680News.
