Megumi Asaoka

Megumi Asaoka (麻丘めぐみ Asaoka Megumi?) (born October 11, 1955) is a Japanese pop singer, and actress. Her real name is Kayoko Fuji.

She made her entrance in showbusiness in June 1972, with her debut single "Mebae".

Her biggest hit would be "Watashi No Kare Wa Hidarikiki", which peaked at no. 1, on the Oricon charts, in July 1973.

She married Mitsuo Watanabe in September 1979, and divorced him in February 1982. She has one daughter.[1]

In 2011 the Japanese music program Music Station listed her in their Top 50 Idols of All-time based on their sale figures. She was placed no. 47, with sales exceeding 3,000,000.[2]
