Melissa Maia de Sousa, better known as Mel Maia (born May 3, 2004[1][2]) is a Brazilian child actress. She rose to fame in 2012, when she played young Rita in the telenovela Avenida Brasil. For that role she received multiple awards.[3][4][5][6][7] She was born in Rio de Janeiro.
