Nerchinsko-Zavodsky District (Russian: Нерчинско-Заводский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[2] district (raion), one of the thirty-one in Zabaykalsky Krai, Russia. It is located in the east and southeast of the krai. The area of the district is 8,920 square kilometers (3,440 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Nerchinsky Zavod.[1] Population: 10,782 (2010 Census);[4] 12,499 (2002 Census);[7] 15,605 (1989 Census).[8] The population of Nerchinsky Zavod accounts for 26.4% of the district's total population.[4]
