(Redirected from Ngaire (disambiguation))
Ngaire is a common Māori girl's given name. It can also be spelt Ngaere, and is sometimes Anglicised as Nyree or /naɪəriː/, its usual pronunciation
It is pronounced with an 'ng' sound at the beginning and a 'reh' at the end in its original tongue. Un-referenced sources claim that it originally refers to a small swamp flower, or that it means 'flaxen'. Referenced sources suggest that the name does have a link to marshy terrain.
