The Oman Daily Observer is an English-language Omani daily.

History and profile

Established in November 1981, it is one of the oldest and respected English-language broadsheet in Oman. Oman Observer is the only English newspaper to be published on all seven days of the week in Oman.

The 'Observer' focuses on local, national, regional and international news covering current affairs, business and sports. It also pays special attention to Oman’s economic development, highlighting the country’s natural, historical and cultural wealth.

The current Chairman of the Board of Directors is HE Dr Abdulmunim bin Mansour bin Said al Hasani, Minister of Information, The Chief Executive Officer is Dr Ibrahim bin Ahmed Al Kindi, and Editor-in-Chief|Editor in Chief is Abdullah Salim Al Shueili.

The reporting team of the newspaper includes Bader al Kiyumi, deputy managing editor, Ali Ahmed Riyami, Conrad Prabhu, Samuel Kutty, Hassan Khamanpoori, Kabeer Yousuf, Vinod Nair, Lakshmi Kothaneth, Zainab Al Nasseri and Mai al Abria. Oman Observer is also active on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter and Instagram. The online team includes Vinod Nair, Lakshmi Kothaneth and Zakia. The publication's weekly magazine, Observer Weekend, is edited by veteran journalist Samuel Kutty.
