Orlovsky District (Russian: Орло́вский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[2] district (raion), one of the forty-three in Rostov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 3,300 square kilometers (1,300 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a settlement) of Orlovsky.[1] Population: 40,894 (2010 Census);[3] 41,768 (2002 Census);[6] 39,386 (1989 Census).[7] The population of the administrative center accounts for 48.9% of the district's total population.[3]
