Paul Amann or Ammann (5 August 1920 – 9 August 1981) was a German Oberfeldwebel in the Luftwaffe during World War II. Ammann was born on the 8 May 1920 in Langenau. As an observer in Kampfgeschwader 4 "General Wever," he received the Knight's cross on 3 December 1945 together with Dietrich Graßmann and Rolf Rannersmann. He claimed three direct hits on the Soviet cruiser Krasnyi Krym with SC 500 bombs. In total, Amann is credited with flying 431 combat missions on the Eastern Front, 92 of which lasted longer than 4 hours and were counted double. This ruling resulted in a theoretical total of 523 combat flights.[1]

Ammann died on the 9 August 1981 in Ludwigsburg, Germany. His last name is also spelled Amann in many places.
