Peter Oppenheimer

Until 2014, Peter Oppenheimer was Apple Inc.'s senior vice president and Chief Financial Officer. As CFO, Oppenheimer oversaw the controller, treasury, investor relations, tax, information systems, internal audit, facilities, corporate development, and human resources functions. He spent 18 years with the company. He reported directly to Apple's CEO Tim Cook and served on the company's executive committee.

Education

Oppenheimer received a bachelor's degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in Agricultural Business and an M.B.A. from Santa Clara University, both with honors. Oppenheimer is a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity.

Before Apple

Oppenheimer spent six years in the Information Technology Consulting Practice with Coopers and Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) where he managed financial, systems engagements for clients in the insurance, telecommunications, transportation and banking industries. Oppenheimer then joined Automatic Data Processing (ADP), where he was Chief Financial Officer of the Claims Services Division.

History with Apple

In 1996, Oppenheimer joined Apple Computer as controller for the Americas. In 1997, he was promoted to vice president and Worldwide Sales controller and then to corporate controller.

On March 3, 2014, Oppenheimer announced that he would be joining the Board of Directors of Goldman Sachs as an independent director. On March 4, 2014, he announced that he would retire from Apple at the end of September, 2014.[1]
