Pietro Cimara

Pietro Cimara (Rome, 1887-Milan, 1967) was an Italian composer, conductor and pianist. He was a student of Respighi at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome.[1] His output included many songs.[2] He was published by Francesco Bongiovanni of Bologna. From 1950-1957 he was conductor at the Metropolitan Opera, where he had a stroke in 1957 while conducting La Forza del Destino,[3] after which he retired to Italy.[4]
