Ralph Nader is an American consumer advocate who has run repeatedly for the office of president of the United States since 1992, with his 1996 and 2000 candidacies being backed by the Green Party. To date, he has never held public office at any level of U.S. government.

On Meet the Press in early 2008, shortly after he had announced his candidacy for the 2008 presidential election, he also criticized Barack Obama's policy regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,[1] to which the Republican Jewish Coalition responded by comparing Obama's pre-presidential record with Nader's views on the conflict.[2]
