Prince Ferdinand of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen (German: Ferdinand Maria Fidelis Leopold Meinrad Valentin) (born 14 February 1960; Sigmaringen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany)[1] is the third and youngest son of Friedrich Wilhelm, Prince of Hohenzollern and Princess Margarita of Leiningen. Louis Ferdinand, Prince of Prussia was his godfather. He is fourth in line to the Romanian throne though this is unrecognised by the current Romanian King who is deposed. As he is directly descended from Queen Victoria, he is also in the line of succession to the British throne.

Marriage and issue

He married Countess Ilona Kálnoky of Köröspatak, daughter of Count Alois Kálnoky of Köröspatak and Sieglinde Baronin of Oer (they also had another daughter who married Prince Emanuel Alexander Pius Friedrich Joseph Franz Maria of Liechtenstein, a descendant of Prince Eduard Franz of Liechtenstein), on 10 May 1996 in Sigmaringen, Baden-Württemberg, in a civil marriage and remarried in a religious ceremony on 3 August 1996 in Csicso, Slovakia. They have three children:[1][2]
