Ryazhsky District (Russian: Ря́жский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[3] district (raion), one of the twenty-five in Ryazan Oblast, Russia. It is located in the south of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,019 square kilometers (393 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the town of Ryazhsk.[2] Population: 29,026 (2010 Census);[4] 31,097 (2002 Census);[7] 37,322 (1989 Census).[8] The population of Ryazhsk accounts for 74.7% of the district's total population.[4]
