Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology (SMUCT) (Bengali: শান্ত-মরিয়ম সৃজনশীল প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) is a private university established in 2003 under the 1992 Private University Act. The university is located at Dhaka, Bangladesh.[1] It was named after Md. Imamul Kabir Shanto (founder and Chairman) and his wife Tahmina Chowdhury Kabir (Mariam) (founder and Vice Chairman).[2]

Mission

Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology is committed to a declared mission of providing international quality Higher Education and of contributing to the sustainable economic growth of the country by a planned relationship between itself, the community, commerce, industry and the creative sector of Bangladesh. The University is also committed to giving all due respect to the intellectual and creative potential and dignity of all staff, students and everyone with whom it has contact as human beings without regard to racial, ethnic, religious or cultural background.

Shanto-Mariam Academy of Creative Technology was established to spread up-to-date design, cultural and technical education throughout the country. It is a sister concern of the University that focuses on:

These are open to all from a 5-year-old child and above. One year diploma and six month certificate courses are offered on Fashion design, Interior design, Graphic design, Multimedia, and Music. The academy also offers vocational SSC in Automotive, Garment design & pattern cutting, and Interior with Auto CAD under the Open University. The academy also offers SSC and HSC program for under-privileged students who are working.
