Sidney Cordle MBE (born 2 January 1956)[citation needed] is a British political campaigner, who has been involved in politics for 40 years. He was a Conservative party councillor from 1984 to 1988 on Sheffield City Council. He became leader of the Christian Peoples Alliance in 2012.

Early/private life
He was educated at Theale Grammar School in Berkshire (1967-1974). He studied at the University of Sheffield and achieved a BA honours in Biblical studies in 1977 and LLB with honours in 1982
He was married in 1980 to Beverley and they have three children, Alex (b.1985) Emily (b.1986) & Joanna (b.1989). They agreed to a divorce in April 2000. He married Olubukola in February 2015
Cordle was employed by Prudential Assurance Co Ltd (now Prudential plc) from 1978 to 1996. From 1996 to 1997 he was a self-employed independent financial adviser (IFA) before he accepted a job as managing director and IFA with Scott Briscoe Ltd (1997-2011).
Political activity
Cordle was a Conservative Party councillor in Sheffield from 1982 to 1988. He stood for the Conservatives in Sheffield Heeley at the general election in 1983[1] and in Sheffield Hillsborough at the 1992 general election.[2]
For the Christian Peoples Alliance, he stood against Nick Clegg in Sheffield Hallam at the 2005 general election[3] and in Erith and Thamesmead at the 2015 general election.[4]
In the 2009 European Elections, he was number one on the Christian Peoples Alliance list in Yorkshire and the Humber.[5] In the 2014 European Elections, he was the number one on their list in London.[6]
Honours and awards
Cordle received an MBE for political and public service in the 1989 New Year Honours list.[7]
