Siran Upendra Deraniyagala

Dr. Siran Upendra Deraniyagala (born 1942) was former Director-General of Archaeology, Sri Lanka (May 20, 2005). He is the son of Dr.Paul E. P. Deraniyagala. In 1968 Deraniyagala discovered ancient human burials in the Fa Hien Cave.[1]

Education

He received an MA at University of Cambridge, a postgraduate Diploma at the Institute of Archaeology, University of London and his PhD at Harvard University.[2]
