  1. ^ Zhong Hanliang & Jackie drove off from Luohu Stadium without their crew members, and were the 4th team to arrive at Hong Kong International Airport for the first of two flights to New York. They were given a penalty and made to wait, ultimately dropping them to the 8th team in line for the flights and leaving them to go on the second flight.
  2. ^ Zhong Hanliang & Jackie were the fourth team to arrive at the Pit Stop, but because they had broken traffic laws in driving to the Pit Stop they were given a 30-minute penalty. During this time, Chen Xiaochu & Zhen Yijian arrived at the Pit Stop for a 4th-place finish, dropping Zhong Hanliang & Jackie to 5th when they were allowed to check in.
  3. ^ Chen Xiaochu & Zhen Yijian arrived in first place, but were given a 30-minute penalty because Chen Xiaochun had performed both of the Roadblocks on the Leg when they were instructed to alternate. No teams arrived during the 30-minute period, so they were allowed to check in for a 1st-place finish.
  4. ^ Bai Jugang & Guan Xiaotong were also given a 30-minute penalty as Bai Jugang performed both of that leg's Roadblocks, but because they had arrived in last place, they were eliminated.
  5. ^ Zhang Tielin & Yueliang used their Express Pass to bypass the task at Eagle Films Studio on Leg 3.
  6. ^ Jin Dachuan & Liu Chang used their Express Pass to bypass the Detour after they were U-turned on Leg 3.
  7. ^ Chen Yiru & Zhou Weitong originally arrived in third. However, they moved more than 5 meters apart during the Detour, which was specifically prohibited by the rules, and received a 30-minute penalty. They fell to 5th.
  8. ^ Chen Yiru & Zhou Weitong originally arrived in fifth. However, they took a transportation vehicle to the Pit Stop when the clue instructed them to walk. They had to return to the Burj al-Arab and then walk to the Pit Stop. This did not affect their placement.
  9. ^ Zhang Tielin & Yueliang initially arrived in 3rd. However, they received a 1-hour penalty for quitting the whitewater rafting challenge. They fell to 6th and were eliminated.
  10. ^ Jin Dachuan & Liu Chang, Chen Xiaochun & Zheng Yijian and Chen Yiru & Zhou Weitong quit the pottery challenge and each received a 15-minute penalty before they could continue.
  11. ^ Chen Xiaochun & Zheng Yijian chose not to complete the octopus-eating challenge and received a 1-hour penalty before being permitted to continue.

Leg 1 (China → United States)

Upon arriving in New York City, teams searched for their next clue in Times Square.

Airdate: October 17, 2014

At the starting line in Shenzhen, teams had to search among 50 balloons for one of only eight with car keys attached to them. Teams would then have their next clue played to them on their Infiniti's video screen. This led them to Luohu Stadium, where they had to find a taxi and driver who would take them to Hong Kong Airport for their first destination city: New York, New York.

Upon arriving in New York, teams headed to Times Square where they had to look through the many electronic billboards for one that would show them their next clue every 3 minutes, leading them to the Theatre Circle on 44th Street. At Theatre Circle, teams picked up a souvenir keychain for times they could go into the store the following morning, after which they were allowed to search the store for their next clue, which sent them to the Plaza Hotel for the Roadblock, asking "Who is more popular?". One team member had to pick up a camera and take pictures of various people around the hotel. They had to find and photograph someone with white hair, someone with a child in a stroller, someone of the opposite sex with a wedding ring, someone lying on the ground, and someone with a briefcase. They had to pick three of these possible photograph subjects, and one of them had to receive a kiss from the other team member

The next clue was for the Detour, a choice between Good Body (好身体 Hǎo Shēntǐ) and Good Memory (好记性 Hǎo Jìxìng). In Good Body, teams traveled to East River Park and dressed in football gear. They would have to run through a series of tires without falling over, push past a gauntlet of football players, and then kick a football over a group of players. In Good Memory, teams made their way to Lombardi's Pizza. They would choose a series of three pizza orders to memorize and then carry all three orders at once through the streets to deliver them in exchange for receipts.

The clue after the Detour sent teams to Tompkins Square Park, where teams had to taste test four different styles of hot dogs. After completing the hot dogs, teams went to Brooklyn's Hollywood Stunts NYC for the second Roadblock of the leg, asking "Who wants to challenge at high altitude?". Either a team member would be tied up in a straitjacket and hung upside-down at a height of four storeys and they had to free themselves from the straitjacket. After this, they would climb to a platform and take a large leap onto a soft landing pad and receive their next clue.

Leg 2 (United States)

File:Mechanical bull at 2008 San Mateo County Fair 2.JPG
While in Texas, racers had to ride a mechanical bull in order to receive one of their clues.

Airdate: October 24, 2014

At the start of the Leg, teams learned they were travelling from New York City to Dallas, Texas. Upon arrival, they headed to the Fort Worth Stockyards where they found the Detour: a choice between Snap (咔嚓 Kāchā) and Stomp (踢踏 Tī Tà). In Snap, teams had to find the Cross Eyed Moose Antiques store, and then on a wall near the store they would find eight antique photographs. They had to memorize the exact details of one of these photographs and then enter the store and then dress up exactly as the subjects in the photograph and recreate the pose for a photographer. If everything was correct, teams would get their next clue. If they failed, teams had to completely remove their costumes before trying again. In Stomp, teams made their way to Billy Bob's Texas store and dress in cowboy attire. They then had learn and perform a line dance in order to get their next clue. Teams then made their ways back to the Stockyards to the water tower where one of them would have to ride a mechanical bull. If they could hold on to the bull with one hand on the reins and their other hand over their head for 45 seconds without falling off, they would receive their next clue.

For their Speed Bump, Bai Jugang & Guan Xiaotong had to enter the stockyards' maze and search inside for the four letters that spell "MAZE". Once they had all four, they could continue with the race and onto the mechanical bull task. Teams then traveled to the Mainstay farm in Cleburne where they encountered the first Roadblock of the leg, asking "Who wants to blow?". One team member had to choose an armadillo and place it into the playing area of a field, and then guide it towards a goal by blowing onto it or luring it with worms in order to receive their next clue.

The clue where teams travelled to a farm in Grandview where they had to roll over several bales of hay until they found one that had their next clue beneath, directing them to the Beaumont Ranch where they encountered their next Roadblock, asking "Who is ready to equip themselves?". The other team member rode a zip line over the ranch, and along the way would be able to see six pictures along the ground. After getting off the zip line, they had to choose from a set of pictures to find the same pictures they saw along the way and put them in the correct order in order to receive their next clue. This clue gave teams a map of Beaumont Ranch and a compass, and directed them through a series of necessary check points before they could check in at the Pit Stop at the ranch's Bell House.

Leg 3 (United States → India)

File:Barsana Holi Festival.jpg
In the Roadblock in Delhi, racers had to search through a group of Holi festival goers.

Airdate: October 31, 2014

Teams were all flown out to Delhi, India. At the start of the leg, teams received a photograph of a green auto rickshaw, known as a "tuktuk", and were told to take one to Qutb Minar. Along the way, they had to learn the Hindi word for "Hello", as they would not receive their clue unless they said "namaste".

The clue they received was for the Detour in Gazipur Market, a choice between Happy Fish (鱼儿欢 Yú Ér Huān) and Sweet Flower (花儿香 Huā Er Xiāng). In Happy Fish, teams had to find market stall #25 and catch live fish and put them into a basket. They then had to transport this basket of fish to stall #63 while carrying it on their head. Once 25 fish were delivered, teams would get their next clue. In Sweet Flower, teams had to create a traditional Indian flower garland using 178 flowers using a given example. Once it was correct, they would receive their next clue, and follow a series of U-Turn board before getting their next clue.

After passing the U-Turn point, teams headed to Eagle Films Studio where they had to learn a Bollywood dance routine, and a dialog in Hindi, to the satisfaction of a film director before he would give them their next clue, directing them to the New Friends Colony market. At the market, teams received henna tattoos, and had to figure out that their next location was written on their hand in Sanskrit, leading them to the Defence Colony club sport complex where they encountered the Roadblock, asking "Who wants to get themselves dirty?". One team member had to search a crowd of people for one of seven people that was assigned to their team, all while people were participating in a Holi celebration around them, throwing coloured dyes at each other and the racers. Once the team member found their assigned person, the team would receive their next clue, sending them to the Pit Stop at Humayun's Tomb.

Leg 4 (India)

File:Palast der Winde.jpg
Teams visited the infamous Hawa Mahal when they're racing in Jaipur.

Airdate: November 7, 2014

At the start of the leg, the teams were told they were to next travel to the city of Jaipur. Upon arrival they had to head to the Jantar Mantar sundial where they found 50 men in turbans walking around. Six of the men had their next clue hidden within their turban, but if they did not find their next clue, they would have to rewrap the man's turban before being allowed to continue. The clue sent them to a cricket stadium for the Roadblock, asking "Who is the best batsman?". One team member had to hit at least one of six cricket balls bowled to them to receive their next clue. If they could not hit any of the six bowls, they had to sit out for a penalty time period before they could attempt the Roadblock, again. Once they hit a ball, they were given their next clue.

The clue sent teams to Chaugan Stadium where they picked up their next clue, either they offered the Fast Forward. In the Fast Forward, teams were sent to a small neighborhood of Jaipur to find a secret clue that told them their task: prepare 50 cow manure dung cakes. Once one team accomplished the task, they were awarded the Fast Forward and were allowed to bypass the rest of the tasks on the leg, while any other teams that attempted the Fast Forward had to return to the Stadium.

Other teams had to pick up the clue for the Detour: Slow Down (慢下来 Màn Xià Lái) or Hurry Up (跑起来 Páo Qǐ Lái). In Slow Down, teams made their way to the Jhamundas Girdhari Temple and had learn a series of five yoga poses. They then needed to perform all five within two minutes, holding each one correctly for at least 10 seconds, to get the next clue. In Run Up, teams made their way to Balaji Pottery where they would load pots onto a tricycle delivery device. They had to deliver at least 32 unbroken pots onto only one tricycle to a specified address to get their next clue. The clues they received depicted the Hawa Mahal, but teams were left to figure this out on their own, heading to find a second clue that directed them to the Amber Fort for the Pit Stop.

Leg 5 (India → United Arab Emirates)

The Souk Madinat Jumeirah was served as the fifth Pit Stop of the Race.

Airdate: November 14, 2014

At the start of the leg, the teams were sent to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Teams were given a certain amount of money based on how well they performed in the previous leg. Upon arrival, they headed to the Burj Khalifa where they had to find search for four different plants on the first floor: erect prickly pear, spider lily, American aloe, bird of paradise. Teams had to guess which of the plants was the inspiration for the building's design. They would then go to the building's highest floor and then give their answer to a judge. If they gave him the correct answer (spider lily) he would give them their next clue. If wrong, they had to go back down and find another plant to base their answer on.

The clue they were received was for the movie-inspired Detour: Frozen (冰雪奇缘 Bīngxuě Qíyuán) and Fast and Furious (速度与激情 Sùdù yǔ Jīqíng). In Frozen, teams made their way to Ski Dubai and upon arrival they had to climb to the top of the ski hill and ride a toboggan back down. They would have to knock over at least 10 snowman-styled bowling pins along the way to get their next clue. In Fast and Furious, teams made their way to the Dubai Autodrome and drove an Infiniti Q50 around a course. They would have to drive through a slalom of cones and then park in a designated space within a 48-second time limit.

The clue sent teams to the Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club where they encountered the Double-Battle. Two teams faced off against each other in a game of camel polo. Once a team scored three goals against the opposing team, they would receive their next clue for the Roadblock and be allowed to move on. However, after the Double-battle, Chen Xiaochun and Zheng Yijian had to do the Speed Bump. They had to paint a traditional Arabian face painting onto each other's faces, and once they were done, they would be allowed to head on to the Roadblock at Skydive Dubai, where teams asked, "Who is brave?". One team member had to take a tandem skydive with an instructor out of a plane 4,000 metres (13,000 ft) above the ground. Once they landed, they were given their next clue, directing them to the Burj Al Arab. Upon arrival, teams found that they had to clean up a hotel room in the Burj Al Arab using a properly made room as a guide. Once the room was made up to the hotel's standards, they were given their next clue, directing them to the Madinat Jumeirah for the Pit Stop.

Leg 6 (United Arab Emirates)

File:Al-ain.jpg
Al Ain was visited much of this leg.

Airdate: November 21, 2014

  • Abu Dhabi (Sharjah Aristocratic Villa) Speed Bump: Clean Tiger Pool Detour: Sharp Eyes or Steady Hands
  • Al Khatim (Arabian Nights Village)
  • Al Khatim (Abu Dhabi Desert) Roadblock: "Who loves treasure?" Yield(Chen Yiru & Zhou Weitong attempted to Yield Jin Dachuan & Liu Chang)
  • Al Khatim (Arabian Nights Village) Intersection
  • Ain al-Fayda, Al Ain (Wadi Adventure)
  • Al Ain (Al Jahili Fort) Pit Stop: Leg 6

Teams all departed on this leg of the race at the same time, but would only receive their first clue if they performed a "tiger kiss" by bumping their nose against a local adolescent tiger. This first clue was a Detour, where teams chose between Sharp Eyes (火眼金睛 Huǒyǎn Jīnjīng) and Seeing Stars (满眼金星 Mǎnyǎn Jīnxīng). In Sharp Eyes, teams would choose a board which had pictures of the eyes of five Arabian women. They would then have to search among the many women in the villa for the five pictured on their board to receive their next clue. However, during this task team members would be tied together by wristbands. In Seeing Stars, teams had to put on traditional Arabic dance skirts and then perform a local dance by spinning continuously for 30 seconds. After the dizzying dance, team members would each have to stack eight clay vases on top of one another to get their next clue. However, if they broke the vases or ran out of time, they would have to start again. Before beginning the Detour, Zhang Yueliang & Tielin had to perform their Speed Bump at the tiger relaxation pool. They would have to use a scooping tool to remove all of the plastic balls from the pool before continuing.

After the Detour, teams traveled to the Arabian Nights Village. There, they would ride a camel into the barren sand dunes of the desert nearby to find their Roadblock clue. It asked them, "Who loves treasure?" The chosen team member would have to use a metal detector to search a marked area in the sand, looking for Aladdin's lamp. Once they found one, their next clue would be inside. Teams had to take this lamp with them to the Pit Stop in order to be checked in. This clue would be a set of basic directions that would lead them through the dunes and back to the village fortheir next task; an Intersection. The Intersected teams would have to erect a traditional Bedouin tent and prepare the inside so that everything was correct in order to get their next clues.

After the Intersection, teams were no longer intersected and traveled to Wadi Adventure. There, teams would have to ride a raft down the wild man-made rapids in the park, trying to grab red, yellow and blue flags hanging above. Teams would get three attempts before they would go to the end of the line and had to start over. The clue they received after successfully grabbing one of each color flags directed them to the Pit Stop at Al Jahili Fort.

Leg 7 (United Arab Emirates → Greece)

In Athens, teams visited Zappeion for this leg of the Race.

Airdate: November 28, 2014

Before departing from their overnight stay at the Athens Ledra Hotel, teams had to vote for who would be U-Turned on this leg of the race. They would then proceed to the Antiques Market. There, teams had to use a spinning wheel to shape a clay basin in order to get their next clue. However, if the judge was dissatisfied with their work, he would destroy it so they would have to start over.

Teams then travelled to the Zappeion. There, they would find a series of living statues representing ancient Greek gods and goddesses (Athena, Apollo, Poseidon and Zeus). Teams had to choose from a selection of props and give each statue the correct prop. They then had to say "Please come to life" in Greek, making sure to pronounce it correctly. If everything was matched correctly, the statues would come to life and teams would get their Detour information. If not everything would have to be reset and teams would try again.

In the Detour, teams had to choose between Wisdom (智慧 Zhìhuì) and Courage (勇气 Yǒngqì). In Wisdom, teams would have 30 seconds to memorize Archimedes' law written in Mandarin. They then had to recite the law to an Archimedes impersonator within the span of 20 seconds. If they were correct, they would get their next clue. In Courage, teams had to utilize a slingshot to fire a watermelon at a suit of armour 15 meters away. They had five rounds to attempt this, each of which would involve launching 10 watermelons. If teams failed all five rounds, then they could not continue and had to either go to "Wisdom" or take a penalty. They then traveled to the U-Turn reveal board at the Roman Agora.

Once at the Archeon Gefsis, teams found a Roadblock. The chosen team member had to walk through a recreation of a Greek dinner party from ancient times, observing as much as he or she could. At the end, the team member would be asked a question. If the question was answered correctly, the team would receive the next clue. Otherwise, the chosen team member would have to try again. The twist was that this question would be selected from a group of questions by the non-participating team member on each attempt.

Teams would then travel to the Panathenaic Stadium, where they had to perform a 3000m run. Only after the grueling challenge could teams receive their next clue directing them to the Pit Stop at the Olympieion.

Leg 8 (Greece)

The leg majorly took place in the Greek island of Santorini, showing the town of Fira.

Airdate: December 5, 2014

Upon arriving in Santorini, teams were only given a photograph of their next destination; a picture of the roof of a church somewhere on the island. They were left to figure out that it was a church in Oia, and they were allowed to use GPS to get to Oia, but after that they were left on their own. The clue teams picked up at the church instructed them to head to the Ellis Restaurant in Fira. Upon arrival, they found that they had to use a donkey to safely deliver 120 unbroken eggs to the Porto Carra Cafe across town. However, every egg they broke along the way would result in a 30-second penalty for the team. After all 120 eggs were delivered, teams would receive their next clue. Before beginning this task, Chen Yiru and Zhou Weitong had their Speed Bump where they to travel to the Porto Carra Cafe and discovered they each had to chop 1 kilogram (2.2 lb) of onions.

The clue teams received at the Porto Carra Cafe was for the Roadblock. After heading to Perissa Beach, one team member had to rock climb up the sheer face of the cliffs surrounding the beach to reach a red and yellow flag at a high point on the cliffs. This flag would be exchanged for their next clue, which they discovered was for the Detour. Teams had to choose between Aegean Sea(爱情海 Àiqíng Hǎi) and Love Potion (忘情水 Wàngqíng Shuǐ). In Aegean Sea, one team member had to fill a bucket with water from the sea and then stand in a designated area. They then had to toss the water to their partner who was holding another bucket, trying to get as much as they could into their partner's bucket. The partner would then fill up a container with the collected water. Once their container had been filled, teams would get their next clue. In Love Potion, teams had to stack seven cocktail glasses into a pyramid, and then use a stack of mixing glasses to pour red and yellow colorful cocktails into each glass simultaneously. This had to be done in such a way that none of the cocktails mixed. Once successful, the team would get their next clue.

The clue teams received instructed them to head to the Remezzo Tavern in Akrotiri, where they found a second Roadblock. The chosen team member had to take a key from a net on the beach and then travel out into the water. Once in the water, they put on scuba gear and dove down to a shipwreck 8 metres (26 ft) underneath the surface. They then had to search among many treasure chests underwater for the one their key opened to reveal their next clue. Once reunited with their teammates, teams discovered that they were to head to the Pit Stop at Amoudi.

Leg 9 (Greece → South Korea)

File:Gwanghwamun Square.jpg
In Seoul, teams visited the famous Gwanghwamun Plaza and convince to help a giant jumprope with the locals.

Airdate: December 12, 2014

Before departing, teams would write a good luck message on a scroll at Gyeonghuigung, and then traveled to the Namsangol Hanok Village for the Detour. Teams had to choose between Outer Hall (出的厅堂) and Inner Kitchen (下得厨房). In Outer Hall, teams would have to learn how to perform a traditional Korean folk dance involving pots. This would involve intricate moves as well as balancing the pots on their heads. If they passed judging, they would get their next clue. In Inner Kitchen, teams would observe a table laid out with 30 different Korean dishes, which they would have to memorize. They then had to enter a different area with large pots full of the different foods and properly set a table so that it was identical to the given example. If correct, teams would get their next clue, but if they were incorrect, their entire table would be cleared out and they would have to start again.

Teams then traveled to the fish market, where they would have to catch five small octopi from a tank at stall #142 and carry them by hand to Busan Ilbeonji shop to deposit them into a new tank. They would then get their next clue, but this clue would only contain the simple instructions, "Eat Them." Teams would only get their next clue after eating all five of the live octopi. Teams then made their way to Gwanghwamun Plaza, where they would find a giant jumprope. They had to convince at least ten locals to jump with the rope at the same time, plus one of the team members. The nine locals and team member entered the swinging rope one at a time, and once they were all in had to successfully jump the rope three times. If no-one tripped during this, teams would receive their next clue.

Teams would then receive a Roadblock, directing them to the Kyung Hee University. The chosen team member had to pick up a rose from the entrance, and then search the grounds of the school for Miss Korea 2014, Kim Seo-yeon, who would be pictured at the entryway. Teams had to give the rose to this woman, amongst many similarly-dressed women. If they handed to rose over to the correct woman, teams would receive their next clue. This would lead them to the Pit Stop at Haneul Park.

Upon arriving in Hong Kong, teams went to Kowloon Walled City Park where they had to find the warriors to identify with history.

Airdate: December 19, 2014

Upon landing in Hong Kong, teams were directed to the Kowloon Walled City Park, where they found a Roadblock. The chosen team member had to talk to the many people walking around the park to tell them about a prominent historical Chinese person. The locals would tell them how to identify each person. Once teams thought they knew everyone, they had to enter the Emperor's room and identify all of the people there by pronouncing their names exactly right to their former competitor Zhang Tielin to get their next clue.

The clue they were given sent them to the Jumbo Kingdom restaurant. There, one team member had to observe a huge array of food set out on a table, and had to use only their vision to determine which dish contained fake food. If they picked some real food, then their partner would have to eat it. Once they found the fake food, they would receive their next clue. This directed them to the Pit Stop at Golden Bauhinia Square, while the leg is not over.

Shenzhen Bay Sports Center in Shenzhen was the finish line of The Amazing Race: Jisu Qianjin.

Teams were forced to keep racing by finding their own rest place in Shenzhen, in nearby Mainland China. At 8:00 a.m., teams traveled to the University Town of Shenzhen where they found many Infiniti cars in a maze. They would have to move these cars forwards and backwards only in order to clear a path for one of the three marked cars to exit the maze. They could then drive this car to Shenzhen's Excellence Century Center, discovering a Roadblock. The chosen team member that did not done the Hong Kong Roadblock had to take a terrifying face-first rappel down one of the towers of the center, traversing down 208 storeys and grabbing their next clue along the way.

The clue they received sent them to Dashahe Park, where they discovered a giant ball pit full of globes. Teams had to find globes marked with the various countries they had visited on the Race. Only one team member was allowed in the pit at one time, with their partner taking the globes passed to them and putting them in the order in which they visited them. Once their order was correct, another globe would open revealing their last clue, directing them to the Finish Line at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center.
