It follows the Serene Reflection Meditation Tradition, similar to the Sōtō Zen sect in Japan. It is part of the Order of Buddhist Contemplatives.

Throssel Hole was established in 1972. It offers retreats, festivals and other events for anyone who wishes to learn about or deepen their practice of meditation.

It has been reviewed by the national press.[1] and elsewhere.[2] In 2005 it featured in a BBC article on The History of Buddhism in Britain.[3]

People who have been there share their experiences.[4][5][6][7][8]
