- 1902 - The Pike amusement area begins operating.[3]
- 1908 - Office of mayor established.[3]
- 1911 - Port of Long Beach dedicated.[4]
- 1921 - Long Beach Oil Field discovered at Signal Hill.[5]
- 1923 - Daugherty Field (airfield) established.[6]
