The 2013 Bulgarian self-immolations were a wave of self-immolations in public places caused by the 2013 Bulgarian protests against the Borisov cabinet in early spring. Trayan Marechkov is the first to have set himself on fire, on 18 February 2013. Suicides by self-immolation are not common in Bulgaria.
