Turlock Lake State Recreation Area is located 25 miles east of Modesto, California in Stanislaus County, California. It is a popular San Joaquin Valley foothills Recreation Area park for: swimming, boating, picnicking, and camping. Turlock Lake is part of the California State Parks system.

Many campers at Turlock Lake spend the here at the campgrounds and 5 miles west to the lake access point.
Non-campers pay a $10 parking fee to enter.
