Welcome to Infogalactic: the planetary knowledge core! We hope you will contribute much and well. You will probably want to read the [Help:Contents help pages]. Again, welcome and have fun! Crew (talk) 02:58, 15 October 2016 (UTC)

Nice work

Thank you for your work on articles about writers and poets. --Idris (talk) 13:27, 3 November 2016 (UTC)

Changing the names of the graphics presents a problem

Hi, changing the name of those pictures, eg, from [[File:Alfred Ollivant (writer) 001.jpg|thumb|Alfred Ollivant 1912]] to [[File:Portrait of Alfred Ollivant.jpg|thumb|250px|
Alfred Ollivant
]] presents a problem in the long run because when we sort out the issues with auto-pulling in the graphic the names won't match those back in the Wikibase repository ... and we won't be able to pull them in.

However, there is no problem with improving the captions.

BTW, do you find yourself uploading new pages from W? -- Crew (talk) 23:17, 26 August 2017 (UTC)

Hi, I'm not sure I understand the problem. Commons has both pictures. I just replace them. -- Bassiano (talk)
Ahhh, OK, I didn't realize that. Carry on. -- Crew (talk) 16:19, 27 August 2017 (UTC)

Do you need to import pages?

Hi, you might want to import pages as well. If you do, let me know. -- Crew (talk) 16:23, 27 August 2017 (UTC)

I added the ability to import pages. Use [Special:SpecialPages]. It's towards the bottom. -- Crew (talk) 09:08, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

Importing Articles

When you import articles look at the history to be sure you're not overwriting an original or forked article.

Please consider merging the old and new. ~ JasonCarswell (talk) 22:50, 11 January 2022 (UTC)

My apologies, sometimes I forget there are more than one editor here... I have never merged pages before. Why not just revert my edit? Bassiano (talk)
No worries. Manual merging is just comparing the before and after to select and present the best of both in the latest. It can be a big tedious mess for some articles, and sometimes not much has changed in years. I could have reverted it, but I don't know what your intention was, and I didn't want to step on your toes. And this is a community project, not just about you or me. I simply wanted to bring it to your attention that importing can be a creative as well as destructive process. I leave it up to you what you'd like to do. ~ JasonCarswell (talk) 04:01, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
