Viktor Adamishin

Viktor Mikhailovich Adamishin (Russian: Виктор Михайлович Адамишин) (March 25, 1962 in Murmansk — April 7, 1995), ethnically Russian, is Captain of Russia's militia. In 1995 he was killed during military operation in Chechen village of Samashki, and was awarded posthumously the title Hero of the Russian Federation on August 25, 1995.[1][2]

During a military operation in Samashki in 1995 group of Adamishin was surrounded by bandits who fettered their actions with squally fire. In complex situation Adamishin's group took on circular defense. Having estimated the situation, Viktor decided to organize breakthrough from the trap, while he himself stayed at the place to cover actions of his staff. Rescuing his comrades, Adamishin was mortally wounded during the skirmish and died on the battlefield.[1]

Adamishin was posthumously awarded the Russian Order of Courage in 1995.[1]
