The WPI Engineers are the athletic teams of Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). The school sponsors 18 varsity sports.

WPI teams participate as a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division III. The Engineers are a member of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC). Men's sports include baseball, basketball, cross country, football, rowing, soccer, swimming & diving, track & field and wrestling; while women's sports include basketball, cross country, field hockey, rowing, soccer, softball, swimming & diving, track & field and volleyball; WPI football plays in the Liberty League.

During the 2012–13 season, Men's Basketball was ranked 2nd in the nation in National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division III and had their best start ever, going undefeated for their first 22 games. On February 24, 2013, WPI beat Springfield College in overtime to win the NEWMAC Championship and secure a place in the 2013 NCAA Division III Tournament.
