Awards Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Wolf-Günther Trierenberg (18 June 1891 – 25 July 1981) was a highly decorated Generalleutnant in the Wehrmacht during World War II who commanded several divisions. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. In February–March 1945 he commanded the 347. Infanterie-Division in the defense of Saarbrücken.[1] Wolf-Günther Trierenberg was captured by American forces in 1945 and was held until 1947.
