Yana Egorian (Russian: Яна Егорян, born on 20 December 1993)[1] is a Russian sabre fencer. At the Inaugural 2010 Youth Olympics in Singapore she won two Olympic branded Gold Medals becoming the only Russian fencer ever achieving this feat.
Biography
Yana Egorian was born on December, 20, 1993, in the city of Yerevan. When she was 6 years old, she moved to Khimki, a town in Moscow oblast, where she engaged in fencing under the guidance of Sergei Semin. Later, Yelena Jemayeva also started to train her. She chose sabre fencing as her occupation.[2] Note on last name translation: Egorian is last name of Armenian origin and sometime is translated as Egoryan. Achievements
Yana is two times Silver Medallist of the European Cadet Championships (2009 and 2010[3]). She finished fifth at the 2010 Cadet World Championships in Baku.[4]
