The systematic name of this enzyme class is (R)-2-methylmalate hydro-lyase (2-methylmaleate-forming). Other names in common use include citraconate hydratase, citraconase, citramalate hydro-lyase, (−)-citramalate hydro-lyase, and (R)-2-methylmalate hydro-lyase.
