The crew consisted of four members: Axel Reinemer, Poise MC (also known as Poise, and McPoise), Pumi, and Stefan Leisering. This group was one of the hip hop pioneers in Germany, having nothing to work from or model after except for what came from the United States.

In the 1980s, films about hip hop, like Wild Style and Beat Street reached Germany and transferred information about the musical genre. MC Poise noted that "'Beat Street' was the only fixed point one had" in Germany regarding hip hop.[1]

A Real Dope Thing produced several tracks and came out with their own 12" Vinyl in 1995 titled: "Take The Rough With The Smooth EP".[2]

Some of their tracks also appear on:

  • VibraZone 8/93 (LP)--"Swing Ya Bum"
  • Family Tree International (2xLP)--"Dewdrops"
  • Family Tree International (CD)--"Dewdrops"
  • The Sound of Mzee (CD)--"Seeds", and "I Wish I Could Fly"
  • Deiner Tracks (2xCD)--"Dewdrops" [2]
