The Acadia Axemen ice hockey team is an ice hockey team representing the Acadia Axemen athletics program of Acadia University. The team is a member of the Atlantic University Sport conference and compete in U Sports. The team plays their home games at the Andrew H. McCain Arena (formerly the "Acadia Arena") in Wolfville, Nova Scotia.[2]
History
Acadia has fielded an ice hockey team since 1905. The program has seen some success over the years but their pinnacle was during the 1990s.[3] Acadia made the national championship game on four occasions, winning the title in 1993 and 1996.
Notable alumni
While no alumnus has yet reached the NHL, several Axemen have gone on to play professionally at high levels.
