Bachelor Party is the upcoming album of American recording artist Sage the Gemini set to be released from Global Gemini, Republic, and HBK Gang records.[1] He is considering working with Chris Brown and Andre 3000[3] on the album and is working with producer Max Martin.[4]

Background

Sage the Gemini began rapping at 8 years old and began recording himself at 14.[3] On his 2014 album Remember Me, he had two chart-topping singles "Red Nose" and "Gas Pedal", and the album debuted at no. 47 on the Billboard 200 chart.[3] It featured guest appearances of Justin Bieber, August Alsina, and fellow HBK gang collective member Iamsu!.[3] It showcased a myriad of styles including pop and hip-hop.[3]

At age 22, he took a break from recording, reading scripts, and being a regular kid.[3] For the new album, he stated to radio.com "he was very confident in the album.[4] A lot of people liked my first album, but I feel like it wasn’t my best work."[4] For his first album, he only had six weeks to do it.[4] He also stated to radio.com for the album, "for the new album, I’m excited to show people a side of me they didn’t get to see on the first one."[4]

Recording

Led by two singles, Guantanamera featuring Trey Songz and Good Thing featuring Nick Jonas, Gemini is heavily focused on his sophomore effort[3] and has high hopes for the new album,[3] saying "I feel pretty good about this album; it’s better than the last album."

Not exactly confident about the album, on radio.com he said “I think I have enough music for the album, but I really don’t have enough magic for the album, if that makes any sense."[4]

For the single "Guantanamera", he said I was just freestyling the chorus… it’s like something just gets stuck in your head like “Guantanamera.[3]” When he was recording the song, Trey Songz was in the next room but were not too familiar with each other, however Steelo Brim from Ridiculousness, played it from Trey and he started "shaking his head" and said "I coming over there to record that right now.[3]” For the single "Good Thing", Max Martin recruited Nick Jonas for the song.[4] He stated this about the single "He nailed it so beautifully... Then we the video, and it was crazy. He’s a very fun person. Dry sense of humor, but he’s really fun.[4]
