Batuque Futebol Clube (Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC: Batuki Futibol Klubi, São Vicente: Batúque Futebol Klube) is a football club that plays in the São Vicente Island League in Cape Verde. It is based in the city of Mindelo on the island of São Vicente. As of the 2014–15 season, the team had won four island titles, qualifying them for participation in the Capeverdean National Division, their first title was won in 2002 and their last title was won in 2012, in other regional achievements, the team also won four cup titles, three super cup titles and one opening tournament title. The best ranking was the national semi-finals in 2012.

History

The club was formed on May 5, 1981 and was founded by players. Many of its greatest players took part in European clubs, notably Portuguese clubs.[3][4]

Batuque finished second in the 2002 season with fewer goals than Sporting Praia. The point total of 19 shared with Sporting Praia was the highest total in the national championships, no other club shared or exceeded the total since.

After the stadium was renovated and the artifical turf was added, the 2014 São Vicente Super Cup competition took place in the stadium with Batuque, the cup winner defeating Derby, the champion on January 13, 2015 and made it the first match after renovation, Batuque won their fourth and recent regional super cup title.[5]
