Calvin Fillmore

Calvin Fillmore (April 30, 1775 Bennington, then in Gloucester Co., Province of New York, now in Bennington County, Vermont - October 22, 1865 East Aurora, Erie County, New York) was an American farmer and politician from New York.

Life

On December 12, 1797, he married Jerusha Turner (d. 1852). In 1798, they removed to an area then located in Onondaga County, New York, which is now in Summerhill, Cayuga Co.. In 1819, they removed to Montville, then in the Town of Sempronius, now in Moravia. Later they removed to East Aurora, in Erie County.

He was a coroner of Erie County, and a deputy U.S. marshal. He was a member of the New York State Assembly (Erie Co.) in 1825.

U.S. President Millard Fillmore was his nephew.
