Crawfordsville Municipal Airport (ICAO: KCFJFAA LID: CFJ) is a public use airport located 4 miles (6.4 km) south of the central business district of Crawfordsville, a city in Montgomery County, Indiana, United States. The airport was founded in June of 1945 and is owned by the city. It is primarily used for general aviation. It is included in the FAA National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2015–2019, which categorized it as a local general aviation facility.


Facilities and aircraft

Crawfordsville Municipal Airport covers an area of 260 acres (105 ha) at an elevation of 801 feet (244 m) above mean sea level. It has one runway: 4/22 is a 4,504 by 75 feet (1,373 X 23 m) asphalt runway with approved GPS and NDB approaches. A major runway expansion project was begun during the summer of 2015, which will add roughly 1,000 feet to the existing runway length bringing the length to 5,502 feet. The Crawfordsville NDB navaid, (CFJ) frequency 388 kHz, is located on the field. [1]

For the 12-month period ending December 31, 2013, the airport had 6,383 aircraft operations, an average of 17 per day: 66% local general aviation and 34% transient general aviation. In 2016, there were 29 aircraft based at this airport: 27 single-engine and 2 multi-engine.
